Asian shares boosted by strong China data
Asian shares have advanced overnight (September 2nd), after a purchasing managers' index survey showed the Chinese manufacturing sector expanded at the fastest pace in more than 12 months in August.

Following recent strong data from the US and Europe, the report has been interpreted as a further sign that the global economy is showing signs of sustained recovery.

MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares, excluding Japan, advanced by one per cent to its highest level in two weeks, following on from the 2.1 per cent gain made over the previous two sessions.

In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng added 1.8 per cent, rallying on the optimism following the solid China data. The financial sector made the most significant gains on the index, with China Minsheng Bank soaring by five per cent and China Construction Bank moving 2.3 per cent higher.
